Cheese of the Month

ARDRAHAN 

This washed rind cheese is produced by Mary Burns near Kanturk in County Cork, Ireland, using cow's milk and animal rennet. The flavours are subtler than the smell suggests with a characteristic earthiness and pungency. It is rich, soft and curdy with smoky, lactic flavours. 

The De Beauvoir Deli Co. was opened by Harry Davies in late 2009. Having grown up just yards from the shop, a building with food provenance previously housing a baker, butcher and dairy (prior to the Automart!), Harry knew exactly what the local area was lacking. He set out to open a shop that offered top quality, ethically sourced produce, a cut above the "Metro-Locals" of this world, and a place to enjoy freshly prepared food and coffee to eat in or take away.
Wine of the Month

BODEGAS BAGORDI RIOJA COSECHA 

Bodegas Bagordi is situated on Rioja's far north eastern edge along the River Ega in the beautiful Baztan valley. It was created in 1995 when several local winegrowers joined forces, combining their vineyards and building a state of the art cellar.   This Rioja is a blend of 90% Tempranillo and 10% Grenache.   It has intense blackberry and raspberry fruit with light hints of spice.
